It was this mission that led the Panama City Beach Smokehouse to team up with Idyll Hounds Brewing Company in South Walton to plan a charity dinner on October 14 to help cover the medical bills for Kayla Gould, a 4-year-old. years old who will soon undergo several surgeries to remove a three-inch mass from his brain.
“We try to do as much as possible,” Kirkland said. “We’re just trying to raise money for the family (and) unexpected medical needs (of Kayla). They’re now at St. Jude (Children’s Research Hospital), which covers a lot, but we still wanted to (do something about it). make up for the number of doctor visits they had to make. “

He said the event will be the third charity beer dinner hosted by Back Beach Barbecue since it opened in June 2017. The others, held in 2018 and 2019, have raised funds for non-Hodgkin lymphoma and South Walton Academy, a private school for children with autism.
Chas Swanson, cellar master of Idyll Hounds, said he and members of his brewery heard about Kayla’s situation via Back Beach Barbecue, who contacted them to help organize the dinner.
Swanson also said it was the second time the companies have collaborated for a charity dinner.
“Their hearts are in the right place and they are trying to help the right people,” he said of those in charge of Back Beach Barbecue. “(This event) gives us a chance to help.”
According to a press release from Jessica Bracken of Proffitt PR, the dinner will consist of four courses prepared by Kirkland and each course will be accompanied by an Idyll Hounds beer.
The statement said the menu will include “a variety of specialty meats including lamb, andouille sausage and fillets, as well as seafood (such as) scallops, blue crab and lobster.” .
Dessert will also be served, and the evening will begin with a cocktail at 5.30 p.m.
