Take a step back in time or find out what 1971 was like to your parents growing up.

1971 was the year that changed everything in music:

  • A lot of really awesome albums have been released.
  • The Beatles had broken up, but Paul, John, and George all released albums that year.
  • It was also a few years after Woodstock and Altamont.
  • The 1960s were over and musicians were writing about the Vietnam War and the Civil Rights movement.
  • The drug scene was changing again – heroin was becoming more common and some musicians who used it died.
  • The record companies realized that the big bucks were in Rock and Roll.

Local musician Mike Brown, best known on Sebastian’s music scene as Mojo Mike, and his fellow musicians are very excited about Groovestock!

“As I was working with the musicians to get ready for this show, we got goosebumps playing and hearing these songs again. The only sad thing is that we don’t have enough time to do it all, ”said Mojo Mike. Daily Sebastian.
